Covid Protocols

A lot has changed, but some things are still the same — when you vacation with Royal Caribbean, your health and safety remains our top priority. We’ve partnered with top medical minds and the Singapore Government to design our plan. Strengthened our onboard medical centers to make them even better prepared. Developed comprehensive prevention protocols for every part of the ship. And designed industry-leading response plans with the hope that we never have to use them. From reducing the number of guests onboard to no more than 50% occupancy and testing everyone before sailing, to cleanliness standards that rival the best hospitals, we promise we’ll never stop working to protect you and the ones you love.
Testing for all Onboard

Testing For All

Safe vacations start with prevention. Every guest and crew member will be required to test negative for SARS-CoV-2 (coronavirus) prior to boarding — and Royal Caribbean will cover the cost of your test for sailings departing on or before 30 January 2021. We’ll continue monitoring everyone’s health onboard with daily temperature checks, rapid testing capabilities, and complimentary in-stateroom medical evaluations whenever needed.

Fresh Filtered Air

100% Fresh, Filtered Air

There’s nothing like the fresh air of the open ocean, wherever you are onboard. On Royal Caribbean® ships, our HVAC system continuously supplies 100% fresh, filtered air from outdoors to all indoor spaces. You can breathe easy knowing that, thanks to this robust system, the transmission of aerosol particles between spaces (like those from a cough) is extremely low to virtually impossible — as validated in an independent assessment conducted by the University of Nebraska Medical Center onboard a Royal Caribbean ship.

Your Questions Answered:

Cleaning Sanitation on Cruise
Medical Grade Cleaning Standards

Royal Caribbean takes great pride in keeping our ships sparkling clean. Now, with guidance from our Healthy Sail Panel, we’re going further than ever before. Our new sanitization protocols rival those at the best hospitals, using disinfectants and techniques approved by the local authorities, like electrostatic fogging to clean frequently and consistently. Plus we’ve reduced the need to touch surfaces wherever possible.

Your Questions Answered:

More Room for Family

Less Guests, More Space For Your Family

Everyone now knows the importance of physical distancing. We also know that on vacation you just want to relax. Royal Caribbean ships will sail with fewer guests onboard — no more than 50% of our usual capacity — giving you more distance from others, so you can focus on getting closer to those you care about. Around the ship you’ll find friendly reminders wherever face masks or extra spacing are required. We’ve also outfitted our crew with personal protective gear and reduced the need for contact in all possible interactions.

Your Questions Answered:

Upgraded Medical Facilities & Expert Care

There’s nothing more important than your health and safety. That’s why we’ve made our high-quality onboard medical care stronger than ever, with more doctors and nurses on each ship and state-of-the-art equipment enhancements. And in the event of a suspected case of COVID-19, we’re fully prepared with immediate medical evaluations, rapid testing and more critical care beds on each ship.
